WHAT WE BELIEVE

(Some essential Doctrines)

PURPOSE: “THOU SHALL NOT SOW THY VINEYARD WITH VARIOUS SEEDS”  (Deut. 22:9)

1.            To make aware of our faith to all saints in the assembly.

2.            To identify and prevent infiltration of false teachings and teachers.

SCRIPTURE: We acknowledge the verbal, plenary inspiration of the WORD OF GOD. We believe it is infallible and inerrant and GOD has revealed His whole mind to us only through the 66 canonized books of the BIBLE. (2Pet.1:21;  2Tim.3:16;  Dan.12:8,9  2Pet.3:15, 16;  Matt.5:17,18;  John 14:26,  16:12,13)

TRINITY: We believe in the Doctrine of Trinity. God is one in essence but three in respect to Person. In other words, in the one being of God, there are three Persons, of one substance, power and eternity-Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 4:35,39,  6:4, John 17:1-3, Heb.1:8,  2Cor 3:17, John 10:38, John 1:1-3, 1John 5:7)

CHRIST: We believe in the Deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is perfect God and perfect man. He is impeccable. (Phil.2:6, 7, Heb.4:15)

HOLY SPIRIT: We believe in the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit in all believers. (John 14:16, 17, I Cor.12:3, Rom.8:14)

Baptism of the Holy Spirit brings believers into the union with other believers in the body of Christ. Baptism of the Holy Spirit occurs simultaneously to salvation and it is not experiential. It is historical. (I Cor.12:13)

Filling of the Holy Spirit is different from the baptism of the Spirit. It is a commandment: “Be continually being filled with the Spirit” (Eph.5:18). Being filled by the Spirit means a believer is under the complete control of the Spirit. It is not a one time experience but rather a repeated experience which is essential
for spiritual maturity and service. (Acts.4:31, 9:17, 20,  I Cor.3:1-3)

SALVATION: Man is a sinner Jesus Christ is the only Savior. Salvation is obtained by grace as a free gift from God through the precious blood of His Son Jesus Christ. (Rom.6:23)

We believe in the eternal security of salvation of every believer (John 10:27, 28). We distinguish the saved from the apostate. e.g. Judas Iscariot was an apostate (2Tim.3:5,  1John 2:18,19)

CHURCH: We believe in the independence of the local Church and is governed by elders and deacons under the guidance and control of the Holy Spirit. (Rev. 1:2,  Phil.1:1,  Acts 11:22, 23)

PROPHECY: We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of all N.T. believers and millennial reign of Christ on earth. (I Cor.15:51, Rev.3:10, 1Thes.1:9, 10, Rev.20:4-6)
