HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS!!

Hope for the hopeless!

Verse for Today: Monday, December 05, 2011

Psalms 71:5 – For You have been my hope, O Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth.

It is nice to look back at one’s life from its youth and see the ways by which the Lord has sustained us. As early as we could remember, He has planted hope in our lives to keep going in a hopeless world. When circumstances were against us, He was for us. When situations created confusions, He gave us His light to see the future. When people were against us, He was our friend and faithful guide. When the enemy attacked us, He fought our battle for us and gave us victory. When dangers knocked at our doors, He kept us as apple of His eyes. When we were discouraged, He encouraged us with His Spirit and promises to keep hoping against hope. When we carried heavy loads in our emotions, He came to take our loads off from our backs and filled us with His joy. When we were unable to sleep, He gave us rest close to His chest. In all these past experiences, the Lord gave us hope to sustain us and to march into a brighter future. Our hope is built not on the world’s systems or technology, but on the Lord and His mighty power. This Lord is our God who will lead us forward in times of difficulties. He will go before us and prepare our way. He will go with us to give us confidence every step of the way. He will be behind us lest we get scared of the enemy who follows us from behind. He escorts us from both sides as we walk so that our focus would not shift from Him to the luring negative thoughts which the world will send from both sides. His mercy encircles around us all the time so that we would enjoy His favor in all situations and circumstances. He gives us more and more confidence in our walk as we face the various situations that come our way. Our Lord knows what is coming our way and equips us to face it with courage and confidence.

Dear friend, are you faced with hopelessness everywhere and wonder how you would go forward in life? Are you gripped with the fear of the circumstances and the unknown future? If you have successfully crossed the Red Sea, a river like Jordan should not be a problem for you. If you were able to drink to your satisfaction at Marah or Meribah, the wells of Beersheba would suffice for your needs. If Cherith is in your memory, the poor widow of Zarephath should pass by with a smile. If you believe in the God of Carmel, the gods of Jezebel need not scare you. The manna that He gave you yesterday will be given to you in a fresh jar today and thereafter. If you saw how the wind and the waves obeyed Him, you can walk on the waves by looking unto Him. If you are with David, there is no need to fear Goliath. If you have experienced the gift of Isaac, Moriah will be your testing ground where your Lord is Jehovah Jirah. The Lord who gave you one Samuel will give you far more than you have ever asked for. If you fill your jars by trusting in Him, He can turn your water into wine and use your stone jars as containers of goodness and blessings. Your Lord wants you to take Him by faith in all your situations and circumstances. He wants you to look back to our past experiences and believe that the Lord who has brought you so far will guide you in the future also. So there is no reason for you to be anxious about your future. You can put all our faith and hope in the Lord who brought you so far and be confident. You can look at your future with a smile because your future is secure in the hands of your Lord in spite of the clouds in the horizon. Beyond the horizon, your Lord is waiting for you to hold your hands and lead you further.

Psalms 48:14 – For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.
