SCHOOL OF TROUBLE!!

School of trouble!

Verse for Today: Monday, May 07, 2012

Psalms 138:7 – Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me.

Troubles of various kinds have the potential to demoralize and push us into despair. It drains us of our patience and energy. It takes away our peace and challenges our joy in the Lord. It shakes our faith and trust in the Lord. Sometimes doubt creeps in our minds about our deliverance. It overwhelms us and overtakes us in fear and anxiety. It reduces our ability to withstand the pressures of situations. It also affects our bodies and minds and causes infirmities. Often a series of troubles come together to squeeze us from all corners and make it difficult for us to handle it. Slowly we fall a prey to pressure and stumble in our faith. Troubles have a bewildering face and they cause us to develop anxiety about its consequences in our lives. But we must understand that troubles are a part of the grand strategy of the enemy of our soul to weaken our faith. God would not cause us trouble, but when troubles come our way, He makes it a venue to teach us valuable lessons in faith and trust. At the same time, He comes to revive our sagging spirits so that we would not sink deep in trouble. When the enemy pours his wrath on us, the Lord covers us under His powerful arms. We will be protected under the shadow of His wings. He will keep us from all harm from the enemy. His hands of comfort, love and fellowship will be around us. He knows when troubles come and so He goes before us to pave the way for us to go forward.

Dear reader, are you going through severe troubles in your life lately? Are these experiences draining you off your spiritual energy? Is the multiplicity of troubles causing fear in you? Today the Lord wants to tell you that He knows all about your troubles. He knew about it even before it started. He has taken all measures necessary so that it would not cause any harm to you. But our Lord will use these troubles to teach you to trust Him more intensely. He will not allow your feet to shake because of these troubles. The Lord wants to increase your faith to trust Him to keep you safe and secure during these troublesome times. When Paul went through trouble, He appeared in person to comfort him. When Peter was in trouble, our Lord sent His angel to release him out of the prison. He gave Peter the peace that passes understanding in the wake of his proposed execution by Herod. When Elijah was in trouble, the Lord sent an angel with food and water along with new ministry for him at Horeb. When David was in trouble, our Lord gave him songs in the night in a cave. He was with the Hebrew youth in fire and with Daniel in lion’s den. He was with His disciples in the stormy weather. He converted Joseph’s prison into a prism through which he could experience the glory of God. The same Lord is with you in power and majesty as your protector, provider and peace. His hands are stretched out to save you from your present predicaments. He will overshadow you with His glory so that the wraths of the enemy will not fall on you. Nothing untoward will happen to you. Don’t you be tempted to believe the lies of the enemy that there is no hope for you! That was what the friends of Job tried to tell him. But at the end, they were proved wrong and the Lord showed every one around that there was nothing impossible with Him. The same Lord lives for us today. Not even an iota of His power and strength has eroded. All you have to do is to renew your trust in Him. Even at the fourth watch, when every thing looks so hopeless and bleak, the Lord will come around and rescue you.

Psalms 138:3 – On the day I called, You (the Lord) answered me; You made me bold with strength in my soul.

Thought for Today

No trouble will ever overpower the hand of our Lord which protects us.
