Rebecca Rajan – THE GREAT ANATOMY [Poem]

THE GREAT ANATOMY

Have you stopped and thought
Of how your body fought
The battle to keep you alive
in this world where germs thrive?

A little embryo were you
More insignificant than dew
Yet,by some divine miracle
You were formed, fully impeccable

From the millions of cells, too many to count
To the glands that secrete in right amount
From your heart that beats without a rest
To your stomach that churns to help you digest.

Numerous things could all go wrong
And yet you’re sustained all along.
Each organ performs with utmost precision
To keep homeostasis in every occasion

No earthly mind could ever conceive
A structure so perfect, its hard to believe!
It is indeed a great mystery
How God thought of our anatomy
