The holiness of God is much more than an attribute of God; it is a synonym of who God is. Br. Abraham Koshy continues from the Glory by showing how it is integral to holiness and examines its root word ‘separate’. Afterward, he discusses the repulsiveness of holiness and how it is made accessible in Jesus Christ; he then explores the standards of holiness and finally contrasts the mount of Sinai with the mount of Zion.
When you hear the word glory, what comes to mind? Br. Abraham Koshy explains the greatness of God’s glory. He also shows how the people of Israel have warped their definition of God’s glory. After giving three key approaches to seeing God’s glory in the bible, he shows how through Christ and with the help of the bible we can magnify the glory of God.
The Creator is the one who is not created nor does he need anything. Br. Abraham Koshy discusses the exclusivity of God, how there is only him. Next, he examines the reasons he is so exclusive, which include the fact that he is eternal, self-sufficient, complete in Himself and is independent of time. His last point is that God does not need us, yet still gave His son to purchase us as children.
It goes without saying that the God of the Bible is the greatest and unknowable being in the universe. How could we mortal humans possibly know such an almighty being? Br. Abraham Koshy highlights the perils of not understanding God, the dangers of understanding Him and finally shows us how to know God.
