How Could Lord Jesus Wash The Feet Of His Disciples?

In John 13, Lord Jesus is seen taking the basin and the towel in utmost humility to wash His disciples’ feet.

But How could the Son of God- the object of worship in heaven, glorious in power; undertake such a humble act of a servant? What was He thinking of Himself when He took the basin and the Towel? Let the Scripture give these Glorious answers…….

Cover up – When where we last guilty of it ?

Cover up, … cover up is to hide from others getting to know. This term was commonly used during the 1972 water gate scandal, when the US president Nixon covered up his staff’s wrong doings
A definition that says what it better would be this – An effort or strategy of concealment

But before fingers are pointed at US president Nixon, or lately even bill Clinton etc… it would be good to see where it is found in the scripture.

THE CUP OF WRATH

I would like to share some few thoughts on the prayer Christ prayed in the garden of Gethsemane.
In the book of Mark, we see Lord Jesus praying a prayer: “Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt”.

In the previous verses, we see Christ in deep agony realizing the cup He would be drinking.

Sins covered!!!

Moses in Psalm 90 talks in length about the brevity of Life. He talks about sorrow, death and especially about the wrath of God towards Man. He says how fragile life is.

And in the midst of saying so much,he reveals a shocking fact as the reason in verse 8:

‘You have set our iniquities before, Our secret sins in the light of Your countenance.’
