A brief biography of Late Bro Angethilaya Kizhakkethil Varghese, Muvattupuzha, Kerala
For a long period of 28 years, Bro. A K Varghese laboured for our Lord and Saviour in many countries by proclaiming and preaching about the second coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and changes in nature & politics, all with reference to the Bible, through series of daily meetings and classes. Many got attracted and came to the presence of our saviour. Brief life history of Bro AK Varghese is mentioned below.
Birth, Childhood and Education
AK Varghese was born on 26th February 1926 in a quaint village by the name of Varayannur, located in the district of Thiruvalla, Kerala. He was the third child of the five children born to Bro Mathai & Eliyamma Ottaplamootill. He was very enthusiastic to understand and learn the word of God in spite of the struggles and tragedies he had to face at a very young age. His parents revealed great faith in God through their witness among the believers of the church in Puvathur. Bro A.G. Chacko was his Spiritual mentor and teacher. A well-known servant of God, Bro T.K. Thomachan was his great friend and encouraged him to work more for the glory of God. After early schooling at Varayannur, he passed out 10th grade from Kumbanad English School, got appointed in same school as a teacher. In the year 1948, he continued as a teacher in Government High School Pallarimangalam, Muvattupuzha. Along with his work, he graduated in BA (Economics). In the year 1951, he got a job in Government High School, Kottarakkara and got his BABT (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Training; equivalent to BEd Degree).
He was an orator and a great scholar in the Word of God and was able to utilize the God given talents effectively for the growth of His Kingdom.
He had a great passion to learn & teach the Word of God. God answered his prayers and enabled him to take a five-year sabbatical from his teaching job and attend the Denver Baptist Bible College in Colorado. The Lord God helped him while he lived there and passed out successfully with flying colours and obtained dual Masters in Theology and Economics. In the year 1975, he returned to Kerala and started prophetical gospel works. He toured USA, UAE and many parts of India and accomplished blessed works in the name of the Lord through his prophetical gospel messages.
He worked together with the respected servants of God, Bro. Y Ezekiel and K.G. Kurian and well- known missionaries and servants of God, such as, Bro. Adams, Bro. Liddel, Mrs. Shetlif. Bro. Noel worked along and supported his works. In the later years, he worked along with Bro. George Kurian, Bro. John Kurian, Bro. M.A. Joy and Bro. Thiruvattar R. Krishnankutty.
Radio was a popular media during that era and was effective to spread Gospel messages. Many messages were broadcasted during this time. Topics such as Second Coming of Christ, The Beginning of the End of the world and its signs, The Millennium Reign of Christ, Watchman-What's the Time (Isaiah 21:11)?, Amen, Even so come Lord Jesus, A Day that will burn like a kiln (Malachi 4:1), Day is ending and Night is Nearing are a few of the great messages which he spoke to the world and the children of God.
He worked as a visiting professor in Hindustan Bible Institute (Chennai) & Kumbanad Bible School and wrote many articles in series. He was the chief editor for magazines such as Pravachana Prathipika, Suvisheshadhwani and Brethren Voice. He also participated regularly at the Pennsylvania conference.
By his preaching methods, his deep knowledge in the Word of God and spiritual views, he gained a close relationship with many Christian believers’ groups. In later years, with the close relationship with many believers, God enabled him to kick-start the Kumbanad Residential School.
He worked as a teacher and principal. With his exceptional work in the field, he received an award as Best Teacher.
In the year 1980, he took voluntary retirement from service. He dedicated rest of his life to work for the Lord. He became a well-known evangelist throughout many countries. He preached and conducted a series of classes; as a result, many came to Christ and His everlasting love.
He was a great scholar and orator in the Word of God and was able to utilize the God given talents effectively for the growth of His Kingdom. Well known Bible scholar, teacher and principal of Brethren Bible Institute, Pathanamthitta, Dr. O.M Samuel is his younger brother.
While he was in in the hospital, many of his friends, fellow workers and believers came to visit him and they were all astonished to notice his peace and happiness in God and saw him speaking more spiritually blessed.
His illness increased gradually and was shifted to Nedumchalil Hospital in Muvattupuzha. Later on dialysis too became ineffective.
1988 October 21st, night, his master, the Lord and Saviour called him to His presence. On October 22nd, his physical body was buried at Sharon Brethren Assembly cemetery, Valakom, in the presence of thousands of believers with the firm hope of seeing him on that beautiful shore.
Leading busy life in the world, with the spiritual knowledge and gift from the Lord and Saviour, he was able to bring many souls to the God and enabled them a new life through our Saviour.

Marriage
In the year 1951 January 19th, Bro A.K. Varghese married Sister Marykutty, daughter of Esthapan Mani from Padinjeetti Puthanpurayil house in Pothanicad, Muvattupuzha. She was a great companion and pillar of support in his spiritual and family life and led a testimonial life. God blessed the couple with four daughters and a son.Job and Gospel Work
From the year 1960 onwards, he got involved intensely in gospel preaching, gospel camps, while he moved from one place to another because of his teaching job transfers. He was also greatly involved with various student organizations, Gideons International and YMEF activities.He had a great passion to learn & teach the Word of God. Later Years and Home call
In 1981, he became sick and unconscious and his later days were filled with pain and struggles. He got admitted for many months in Vellore Christian Medical College hospital and got a little relief with the treatment. He continued to get involved in the gospel works. In 1986, his condition again deteriorated and got admitted in Medical Trust, Ernakulam and was diagnosed with kidney failure. Therefore, he was admitted for dialysis in Medical Trust Hospital. For two years, 75 dialysis were done.While he was in in the hospital, many of his friends, fellow workers and believers came to visit him and they were all astonished to notice his peace and happiness in God and saw him speaking more spiritually blessed.
