In the upper room, Jesus displayed immense humility and love by washing the feet of Judas Iscariot, despite knowing Judas would soon betray Him. Judas hypocritically accepted Jesus’ kindness and a sop (a symbol of friendship), only to later betray Him. This act of betrayal is seen as one of the greatest treacheries in Scripture, yet it highlights Jesus’ divine love and long-suffering. Judas, controlled by Satan, left the room and plunged into darkness, signifying the spiritual doom that awaited him.
