Dear friend, do you realize how much of God’s lovingkindness is poured onto you every day and every moment of your life? In order for God to show His lovingkindness to you, God had to allow His only begotten Son to die a brutal death on your behalf on the cross of Calvary. God allowed it to happen which no human beings would ever permit with regard to their children. But God did it and expressed His love to you to that extent. It is through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross that God is able to show lovingkindness to you because we human beings once turned our back against God and became slaves to His arch enemy. He loved us even when we were His enemies and gave His Son for us so that through Him, God can show lovingkindness to us. So God’s lovingkindness that He shows to us is not without any cost. It cost God the greatest price and that is why it is the greatest gift any one would show to another person. God gives it to those who love Him and have unfettered devotion to Him as a response to the eternal life that He gave them through Jesus Christ. So God’s lovingkindness to us demands that we live in the fear and devotion of the Lord and walk according to His commandments. As we live for Him in this world, He gives us all that we need to live a life pleasing to Him because of His lovingkindness. So if God doesn’t give you something that you desire so much, it is because He knows that it is not good for your spiritual growth and strength. He might perhaps pass you through some experiences that are not very desirable, but that too will be for your spiritual growth and for you to trust Him to put all your faith in Him. This is why we praise God for both the experiences of hills and valleys in our lives. Today let us examine to see if we are truly devoted to God and fear Him in our daily lives and live as it pleases God. Let us continue to live to enjoy His lovingkindness and be grateful to Him for all that He gives us in His grace.
