DESPERATION TO INSPIRATION!

Desperation to Inspiration

Verse for Today: Wednesday, January 26, 2011
Psalms 142:6 – Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me.

There is a place for the desperate child of God to go to and submit his petitions. There is a person who knows what it is to be desperate, and sympathizes with those who are in distress. There is a defense for the child of God when he is at his wits’ end and has no place to turn to. There is a city of refuge for the afflicted and weary soul who needs a hiding place. This is our Lord Jesus Christ who has gone through every imaginable and unimaginable experience of persecution, rejection and distress to be able to fully understand and help those of His children who are pursued relentlessly by the enemy of our souls. Our Lord is with us through our journey in this weary land. He gives us living water to cool us down when we are gasping and our throat parched because of continuous cry. He gives us refuge under His wings so that we can be absolutely fearless and free. He is our shield when the enemy attacks us from all sides. When we are stuck in situations and are brutally stuck, He comes to give us release. When we are blocked from all sides, He shows us His way because He is our way. He listens to all our cries and words of desperation. He even understands the depth of our sighs and gasps, and comforts us like a mother comforts a crying baby. He holds us in His hands and keeps on reassuring us that He will take us to our destination safely. We have the freedom to cry before Him and keep telling Him all about our needs even though He understands our needs much deeper than we ever do. He knows the present as well as the future needs, and prepares to meet every need according to His riches in glory. He reassures us that He is far stronger than any of our enemies in the form of the world, flesh and Satan whom He has already defeated. Can there be any better encouragement for a weary soul than this!

Dear weary soul, it is time for you to gear up to continue to march forward. The enemies will always be around us to fight us, and they will use all their crafty strategies to slow us down or distract us. But our focus should not be the enemy but the Lord who has already been victorious over them. They can’t do any thing to us but will only try to sabre rattle. Our enemy is a defeated enemy and is a chained dog. He can’t hurt us or bruise us because we are safe in the arms of Jesus. We lean on to the Beloved and comfort ourselves with the safety and security that He gives us. When we are weary, we need to simply seek after the brooks of God to drink from and to keep moving forward. We have a pathway to tread for the Lord and a mission to accomplish. We are part of an eternal divine plan and need to focus on that plan as it unfolds for us each day to go forward. As we take each step forward, the enemy and his agents will do everything possible to distract or discourage us to either slow down or retract. But if we cry to the Lord and ask Him to hold our hands, He will take us forward and walk with us to alleviate all fears and apprehensions. He will build a wall of protection around us so that the darts of the enemy will not make us desperate, or intimidate and inhibit us in our sojourn. So dear friend, your future is secure in the Lord who is far greater in His strength and power than any of your enemies. Your situation is known to Him and He will shower His strength to rescue you from the snares of the enemy and take you forward victoriously according to His plan and schedule. Your desperation will turn into confidence and strength in the Almighty in whom you will have perfect rest and peace in spite of circumstances.

2 Corinthians 4:8 – We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

Thought for Today
Even when I am the weakest, the Lord fortifies me with His strength which is sufficient to meet the challenges of the enemy through circumstances.
