Psalms 138:3 – On the day I called, You answered me; You made me bold with strength in my soul. When we are continuously confronted by tough situations in life, it drains us of our energy and makes us weak. Often we lose our courage and become weak-willed. We say things that we should not be saying and think about the negative consequences of our situations. In turn, our situations will slowly exert control over us and make us slaves. We might even start doubting the past decisions that the Lord has made us take. Doubt and confusion will encompass around us and we easily get exasperated and discouraged. Our weakened minds will no longer able to support our bodies which also become weak and make us susceptible to several physical illnesses. But there is no need for us to go the negative way. If we are sure that the Lord has led us so far, there is no need to look back and feel sorry for the way in which we have trod so far. Let us not fall into the doubt trap into which the Israelites fell during the wilderness journey. When the circumstances try to strangle us in confusion and doubt, instead of looking into ourselves, we must look unto the Lord and call upon Him. If we confess our doubt and confusion to the Lord, He will answer us and remove our confusions and doubts. He will fill us with Himself and with the great things He will do for us. He will fill our hearts with His Spirit who will fill us with the ability to put all our faith and trust in the Lord and think positively. He will then lead us to be bold in every situation because we are emboldened by His Spirit. Our boldness doesn’t come from our natural man, but from the Lord in a supernatural way. We will thus be revived to face any eventualities in life and to take bold steps of faith. Our inner man will thus be strengthened to live joyfully for the glory of the Lord.
