Strength unlimited!
Verse for Today: Thursday, June 14, 2012
1 Corinthians 1:8 – He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God desires that His children stay strong and blameless to the very end of their earthly sojourn. He is the giver of strength and He gives His strength to His children through His Spirit. When the Spirit of God empowers a person, he will be filled with divine strength to stand against all the wiles of the enemy. The enemy comes up with false accusations to frustrate and weaken God’s children. He creates suspicion and cast doubt about God’s people in the minds of others. He slanders and finds minute charges with false evidences to criticize them so that they would loose their standing. But when we are thus confronted by the enemy to weaken us, we need to hold on to the promises of the Lord and claim His strength in our lives. As we become strong, we will be able to resist the devil and his tactics to make us stumble. The devil is a shameless foe who even goes to the presence of God with accusations about God’s children. But we have Jesus as our advocate before the Father who will present our case with power to the devil’s shame. The devil will also use people to attack us with unkind criticism and distortions of our words, looks and expressions. But we have the promise of our Lord that He will keep us strong till our mission in this world is accomplished. He pours the power of His Word, His Spirit and the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ into our hearts and fills us to overflowing so that we would be powerful and strong enough withstand the pressures of the enemy. His strength is available for us to appropriate by faith so that we can use it in all our dealings with others. In His strength and in His powerful name, we can resist, challenge and rebuke the devil and enjoy victory on a daily basis.
Dear friend, are you feeling weak, powerless and fearful to face the challenges of the devil in your daily life? Do you feel that you lack strength to face the situations manipulated by the enemy? Are you disappointed with the brutal false accusations and unkind criticisms without substance leveled against you by people who are used by the enemy? This was the experience of God’s servants like Joseph, Moses, David and Paul during their service for the Lord. They were all falsely accused and brutally criticized by those who were dear and near to them. Elijah felt so powerless and weak that he withdrew from the ministry to the desert with thoughts about wanting to leave the world if permitted by the Lord. The enemy celebrated the dungeon life of Joseph and the cave dwelling of David. When Moses was attacked by his own brother and sister, the devil was jubilant. When no one stood with Paul during his first defense at Rome, the devil would have found it as a great accomplishment. The enemy did the same to Jesus and He was like a potsherd and plant on dry ground. But we find that all of God’s children under attack from the enemy have been strengthened by God with His divine strength. It made great turn around in the life of David who defeated all his enemies to become king. Moses was certified by God as the meekest man on earth. Joseph was elevated to the second position in Egypt and given all the wisdom to feed nations for seven long years. Paul kept his race going on course and continued with his ministry of teaching and recording the Word of God. Today our God wants to strengthen us to stand against all the wiles of the enemy and enjoy spiritual victory over frustration, misunderstanding, criticism, ridicule and isolation. As we live with God’s strength, He will continue with the ministry of sanctification in our lives so that our blamelessness will stand out as a testimony for His faithfulness in our lives.
Psalms 29:11 – The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.
Thought for Today
God’s strength will empower His children to weather away all the storms sent by the enemy in their lives.
