Conducting a study on 2 Corinthians 3 & 4, Br. Nicholson contrasts the glories of the 2 Testaments. One that faded away like the glory on the face of Moses and the other that shone through the coming of Jesus in to this World- ‘Glory full of Grace and truth’. This glory today has God instilled in His children, in order to show that the supreme power belongs to God, not to us. And so its the Will of God for His Children to shine this glorious light out.
Can it be true that even when someone is on the winning side of life, enjoying its bounty with no lack and living life to its full circle, that he could still be at an unprecedented loss? Even if was to be the owner of the world with all its fame and name, none to accuse or to question; could it be that He’s still missing on something vital? Jesus certainly almarmed His audience when He talked of gaining the whole world, but loosing the soul.
Studying from II Cor 2, Br J B Nicholson speaks on what are the effective ways in fulfilling the great Commission. While fulfilling the great commission, it is important to note that what God wants to do through us, He first does in us. We preach Christ Crucified, but our lives are based on Self Crucified. In this encouraging and challenging sermon, Br J. B. Nicholson reminds believers, the importance of a ‘Self Crucified’ life.
Posted here is the enacted skit by the youth of Borivali Assembly on the true story behind the famous song- “I HAVE DECIDED TO FOLLOW JESUS”
The story of the song is covered in the Book by Dr. P.P. Job and Indian preacher in His book “Why God Why” About 150 years ago, there was a great revival in Wales, England. As a result of this, many missionaries came from England and Germany to North-East India to spread the Gospel. At the time, north-east India was not divided into many states as it is today. The region was known as Assam and comprised hundreds of tribes. The tribal communities were quite primitive and aggressive by nature.
Expounding 1 Peter 5:16 and drawing various examples from the Old and New Testament, Br. Rajan reminds us that if were to look into ourselves, there are many reasons why we have to humble ourselves before God. And also there are a lot of areas where God can exalt us under His mighty hand.
Like the Children of Israelites in the old testament who came to the edge of the land of Canaan, the land of rest, only to rebel and not go in, believers today fail to to appropriate, employ and appreciate the many blessings in Christ Jesus in the Heavenly places. Speaking from the “let us” passages of Hebrews 4, Br. Fred encourages the believers to be believing and claim the Spiritual Blessings to enter into His rest.
This sermon is the 2nd sermon of the series.
