The topic, What was the topic? I forgot that. Overcome the world. Oh my, that's a big one. First of all, you need to decide: "Why do I overcome the word? I better live in the world, right? Well, I leave those thoughts to the other speakers to decide on. The world as such, what it means to say, is a system, a system that is connected to the devil. Otherwise, we are not supposed to hate the world. God so loved what? And you're saying to overcome the world? Come on. And you live in what? world, and God is praying, and Jesus is praying that I'm not taking them, that you will take them out of the world. So Jesus wants us to live in this world. Jesus wants to love the world. So the meaning of that word world is different from what we are getting here. Okay, here it means to say, a system that is influenced by the devil. And that's what we are trying to overcome, not the planet Earth. We love the planet Earth. Okay, we should talk about global warming. I'm okay with that. That's good. We should love the people in the world. God loved the world. So we also should love the people in the world; there is nothing against the world or the nations. We are good citizens of this nation and live like good citizens, but what we are talking about today is the world, which means the system. That's all that we are trying to say here. Okay? Are you on the same page as us? Hello. Okay. All right, good.

Now what I'm going to do is, in the first session or the second session, it starts from the heart. It doesn't start with the world. It starts with our hearts. Hence, we go to the presentation. Our heart matters. It is what matters in our lives. Our heart matters. What your heart decides to overcome or not to overcome is going to decide how this is going to be. Some quotations—let me just give them to you. All right. The first one is from Aristotle. According to him, the heart is a three-chambered organ, being the seat of intelligence, motion, and sensation. In one line, we know this is not talking about the heart inside your body. It's not the physical heart that we're talking about. We are not talking about using some oil—I mean olive oil and different sets of oil—so that your heart will be strong, and we're not going into that. I'm not a medical doctor by any stretch of the imagination. So to that extent, my topic is not "How is your heart inside that nice-looking stuff? Pumping and not pumping? All that stuff? That's not the topic. The topic is something, as I said, about the world: the word heart". We are going to talk about something non-physical. Are you with me? A non-physical heart is what we are going to do. So your non-physical heart matters in overcoming the world. Solomon said like this in Proverbs 4:23: "Keep the heart with all diligence. For out of it are the issues of life." Life itself has a bearing on your non-physical heart. Hence, keep it with all diligence. So very carefully, very sincerely, very faithfully. Why? Because your heart matters. There is one gentleman, Witness Lee, who is a very famous Christian, as we know. Our relationship with the Lord is always begun and maintained in the heart. A heart is the gateway to our whole being. It's the gateway to our whole being. I know that I have confused you enough by now. What is this? non-physical heart? What is in it? The wisest man told us that you better take care of your heart diligently so that all the issues of life are coming through that, so you better be diligent. Let's look into that. That's what's going to be in the first session. Are you ready? All right, here we go.

The heart has four chambers. non-physical heart Okay. We will read the first component there, which is called conscience. Have you heard about conscience? Maybe we can pick it up from the Hebrews. Hebrews 10:22 mentions that word. “Let us come forward to the Holy of Holies with a true heart;” it's talking about a heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our bodies washed with pure water. So it's talking about the conscience in your heart, which is that there is an evil conscience and a good conscience. An evil conscience being washed, purified, put into your washing machine, and cleaned up. A nice conscience is what it's talking about, right? So what does it mean? Now, conscience. I'll explain to you that your conscience is that part of your heart that helps you decide what is good or evil. Okay, your conscience is that part of your heart that helps you discern good from evil. Are you with me? How do you do that? How do you do that? When God created Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. We know that God has told them that this thing that you do is good. Or this thing that you do is not good. That's the basis of all morality. Right? Right from Genesis, right. How did they discern good from evil? It's God's word. Are you with me? God said so. Hence, that is good. God said so; hence, that is not good. They decided good and evil on the basis of God's Word. So God put His Word, His law, in the conscience of human beings when He created us, and that helped us to discern good from evil. That's how it started. Right? And that's the part that helps us discern good from evil. It's like our law book in our hearts.

The second component of a heart is thoughts. Our thoughts are like madness. I opened the book to study; I'm not able to study because I'm gone somewhere. I kneel down to pray in the morning, and after half an hour, I wake up to know that I didn't pray. Thinking about global warming and other things, and thinking about a lot of big things. Thoughts. So thoughts we have in , “but there were certain of the scribes sitting there and reasoning in their hearts.” It's connected to the heart in the Bible. Okay, what it means to say is that thinking is a component of your heart. Okay. There is a thinking that happened. And in that thinking, you reason out. Reason means what? Logic. Logically, you're thinking, reasoning. Is this what I should or shouldn't do? What are the consequences, pros and cons, as we talked about? Reasoning abilities and thoughts come out there. Psalms 37:4: Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Again, you have thoughts about desires, okay? So there is reasoning, and there are desires in the thoughts. You have it in Matthew 9:4: and Jesus, knowing those thoughts, said, "Why are you thinking evil things in your heart?" Their thinking is connected to their hearts. Okay, so they're having evil thoughts. So good thoughts, evil thoughts, reasoning—all come under this word of heart. So that's the second component.

Third component: emotions Okay, emotions. In John 16:22, we read, "Therefore, you also now have sorrow. But I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice.” So the emotions of sorrow, rejoicing, etc. are happening in the heart. It's connected to the heart, right? In this context. So the emotions—that's the component here. Psalms 9:1: I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart. Heart se you can give thanks. Why? That's an emotion of gratitude coming out of his heart, and he can give thanks for his thoughts about God coming into his heart and making his heart respond with emotions. And that's another third component.

The final component. We have done a good job. This is all that we're going to do for the next two sessions. Will is the fourth component. Okay. Will. Matthew 5:28 says, "Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." It's not just the look that you're seeing. Seeing is different from looking, understanding? Seeing is different from looking. Seeing is something you can do if you keep your eyes open. You will see everybody, won't you? I can't come like this. In olden days, there were some Pharisees who were so holy that they didn't want to see any women. So they walk like this. If a woman is coming anywhere close by and they hit somewhere, they will have bruises all over them. They used to flash that in a big way. I mean, that's a matter of pride for them. You can't expect to see; you will see. Unintentionally, too, you see, but looking at it, there is a small component of the heart working in it. Will. Will is working in that piece. You're looking, and hence it is counted as adultery because there is a will involved. You might not have had the opportunity to do what you were looking for and thinking in your heart. But God counts it as done. It's a done deal. Because there is a will involved.

The next verse might make it a little more clear. Acts 11:23, who, when he arrived and saw the grace of God, rejoiced and encouraged them all to remain with the Lord with purpose of heart. That's a good word. Purpose of the heart. Purpose means a strong decision or will to do something strongly. Deciding strongly with the purpose of the heart. I have decided to do this. Some of you do that no. I have decided to wake up every morning at five o'clock. Right? That's a desire, not a will. When there is will, you will get up. Many times, at five o'clock to study, we will not wake up. But if it is a picnic and you have to go at 5:30, you will wake up at 4:30. Why? Because there is a will behind that purpose. Are you getting what I am trying to say? That's the will. Purpose of the heart, desire, and a strong purpose of the heart. Another word in Romans 12:2 is "be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Then what will happen? You will be able to test and approve God's will. What is God's will? which is His good, pleasing, and perfect will. So, by renewing your mind, what will happen? There is something that gets influenced by your will that gets influenced by God's will. God's will gets superimposed on your will, and His will becomes your will. Let Thy will be done in heaven as it is on earth. As it is in heaven. Right. That will be imposed, and that's the will that we have. The other day, somebody came for an interview. I asked if you have any other hobbies other than work. I think. What just happened? We made a hobby out of it. Thinking. And we keep thinking, right? And then, when we are thinking, it interacts with our conscience. Okay, am I doing the right thing or the wrong thing?

It gets interacted with; our thoughts get interacted with by our conscience. And many times, our conscience, if it has God's law and word in it, would say, "No, no, no, no, you can't think that way." And suddenly we will superimpose that conscience with the evil, and we will show everybody does that in my church, too. And you push it back, and you keep thinking. Okay, so conscience and thoughts have a war, and at some point in time, conscience, whichever is the higher influence in your heart, takes over and influences your thoughts. And then those thoughts will start creating emotions—good emotions or bad emotions. It starts creating emotions in your heart, and those emotions will become a will in your heart. I'm going to do this, and I'm feeling good about it. And I'm going to do this. And that will, when the right opportunity comes up, becomes an action in your life. You have that in Proverbs 4:23: "Guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Have you considered how your thoughts are connected to your actions? Are you with me? It's good to know that x-ray of your heart—how does it function, and how will it work? Please keep this very clearly in mind. We are going to do an exercise now. Ultimately, once this process is done, that's what you are. Your personality, or your person, is what the outcome of this process is. You have that in Proverbs 23:7: "As he thinks in his heart, so is he." Maybe you are called a saint in your church. A very good girl and a very good boy. And they start coming every Sunday for the youth meeting, ABC also. Very good. But when God looks at you, he sees this like an x-ray. Who are you in front of God? Your heart matters. We can perhaps cover up the action outside; that's called hypocrisy. Okay, we can cover up the action to some extent. Ultimately, it will come out.

I remember the first time I got a chance to fly on an airline. It's a personal story. Don't say it out loud. Okay. It's embarrassing. When I was small, I was in fourth grade, a third grade, or something like that, and I went for the first time into an aircraft, and I couldn't believe what all was going on. Those are the days when, when there is a flight going, we will all get out of the house and watch. Those are the days when, not like in Santa Cruz, people live all the time; they are like, "What is this above us? So I got into a flight, and I had that AC feeling for the first time, and I couldn't believe where I was and where I was sitting, and then they came with a plate full of food and nice butter and nice jam. Everything in life is packed into small pieces. I couldn't believe this was all for me. And I don't want to eat it now. I took everything and put it in my pocket. I can't eat it; come on, I couldn't finish it on the plane. I have to show my friends what I've got. I travelled for some seven or eight hours by car and all that, and I reached home, and Mama was like, "What happened to your pants?" The entire situation was leaking. Whatever I have hidden is outside. You can hide yourself for some time. It will all come out. Whatever is done in secret will be declared on the housetop. That's the word of God. Okay, so if you are so and so, if you want to change, if you want to overcome, start from here, right from your conscience.
